Women Who Pioneered Fashion In The 90s

So today in this blog I am going to talk about which women pioneered fashion in the 90s. In the 90s there was so much creativity going on that I believe people really stepped out into their own style and saw how much they owned their outfits. We saw all the different pieces ways certain pieces were being styled and how iconic they were. From baggy clothes, to denim, and from leather pieces. I definitely believe and know women set so many trends that are still being worn today by younger generations. That is why today I came down with the 4 women who pioneered 90s fashion.

1). The first woman that pioneered 90s fashion is Aaliyah. Aaliyah had a style that was very unique she set the trend of the tomboy look. She made a statement and a look of outfits that you can have a mix of feminine and masculine in your style. The way she twisted her own style with the baggy look was very iconic. It made this wave for women and young girls to express themselves and not feel like they cant’t wear clothes that are masculine. You are definitely able to still be feminine and add your taste to the masculine look.

2). The next woman who pioneered fashion in the 90s is Lil Kim. Lil Kim was not only one of the greatest female rappers but she carried so many trends. When it came to Lil Kim and her hairstyles she really saved the way with her colored hair and made is so fun to play around with. For example, Lil Kim did a very unique thing with her hair that had the Chanel Double C’s printed on her blue hair. So iconic! Lil Kim set a trend for all people to have fun with their hair and be confident in it. One of my favorite outfits that Lil Kim wore was when she was at the 1999 Video Music Awards where she had a purple outfits on and purple hair with one tit out. Lil Kim set a whole new wave with that look and served that look with so much confidence as she should.

3). The third person who set a wave for 90s fashion is Gwen Stefani. I definitely feel Gwen had a style that was just her own that no one can tell her how she should dress she owned it. When you look at her red carpet looks there some looks you would probably never see at a red carpet event. She owned her looks and made these looks look great. My favorite look by Gwen Stefani is when she was at the 1998 MTV Music Awards and she was dressed in a skirt that went over pants with a furry blue top and her hair in a nice blue color. I feel this look stood out because this is normally not a look you would see at an award show but she came and embraced who she was and killed that look.

4). Last but not least these group of ladies definitely left a mark in fashion which is TLC. TLC they were the queens of the tomboy looks. They were very fashionable with the baggy clothes and how they styled it. It is truly iconic when women wear these masculine clothes but add their feminine side to it and TLC did that very well. It was very authentic. They were able to show off who they were and what they represented authentically and that’s what the fashion world is about being stylish while being authentic.
